Hello and congratulations on your pregnancy. My name is Liz, and I have worked as a midwife in Southland for almost 20 years, working as both an LMC and as a Core Midwife in Southland Hospital. I have recently decided to return to where my heart lies - walking alongside and empowering women and their whānau to have the best possible pregnancy, labour /birth and postnatal experience. I feel privileged to work alongside women and believe that birth is a normal process for many, but understand that this journey can be more complicated for some. I strongly believe in providing continuity of care, and supporting you in your chosen place of birth, and am confident in both home, rural and hospital settings. I strongly believe in providing evidence based information to allow you to make informed decisions on what will work best for you and your whānau. As I live near Winton I anticipate that antenatal visits will be at The Midwifery Villa, and postnatal visits will be in your home.
