Kia Ora, my name is Laney (Melaynee). I have been married for 19 years and we have 3 handsome fully-grown young men. I have always had a passion for women and the amazing ability their body has to birth their baby. I feel strongly about women gaining back their right to birth their baby themselves where possible. Throughout history the birth of our babies has become more and more medicalised. And with that medicalisation a women’s authority over her own body and birthing has diminished. It is time we as women take back our birthright in a positive and safe environment. There is still a time and a place for medical intervention, which I fully acknowledge and support when there are risks involved for you or your baby. Together we can plan a safe and individualised birth experience for you, your baby and your whānau. Aiming for a safe and memorable birth for you and your whānau to remember fondly for many years to come.
