About Me

Kia ora! I share a caseload with Keli Van Gerwen meaning you are cared for by two lead midwives. Together we can work towards your labour and birth 'goals,' ensuring you, baby and partner are well supported & respected. We love to care for whānau planning a home birth, whether this is your first pēpi or not! Sometimes hospital birth is better suited and we also care for those needing to birth in Queen Mary. We encourage you to use whatever therapies you want, to help achieve a safe & memorable birth experience. We are of course very comfortable providing shared care with obstetricians if and when the need arises, and have been catching babies in Queen Mary for the past few years, as well as at other units around the Otago/Southland region, and at home. I have called Dunedin home for the last 7 years, and have also lived and worked in Central Otago and Balclutha as both a community and primary unit core midwife. In my week off call I can be found sketching, gardening, or relaxing by the sea.

How to Get Hold of Me

I am on maternity leave from early Feb onwards so I am unable to care for you if you are due after then. I may be able to provide pregnancy care for you until then, with the agreement that your care would be transferred to another midwife who will be joining our practice to cover my 6 months of leave. You can send me an email, and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. Please do not ring to enquire availability, phone calls are for urgent reasons only - email preferred. Current delays in responding to emails whilst we confirm caseload numbers - apologies.
