Lorna Bowles

Team Midwives

About Me

Kia Ora mamas to be. My name is Lorna and I moved from the Far North in 2014 to train as a midwife. I have recently transitioned from working in the hospital, to in the community, where I work alongside a wonderful, small team of experienced midwives. We look after mums who have low-risk pregnancies & are wanting to have their baby at either Botany or Papakura Maternity Units, or at home (this includes waterbirths). If you are unsure about whether this is you, please get in touch to discuss. Pregnancy can have curveballs and if you were to end up needing secondary care (support at the hospital with the team of obstetric doctors) we continue to look after you and fully support you there. Like all midwives, I provide care throughout pregnancy, labour & birth, and up to 6 weeks after baby arrives (visiting at home). I see mums for antenatal appointments at Botany Maternity Unit. I strive to provide care that allows mums to feel safe, reassured and listened to.

How to Get Hold of Me

021341737. The best way to get in touch is to send a text weekdays during daytime hours with some details about yourself: (when you are due, what number baby you're having, where you live, where you'd like to have your baby & any notable medical issues) and I will get back to you as soon as possible. If you have any questions please get in touch, I look forward to hearing from you.
