My name is Bridget Molloy (Biddy), I am a registered midwife living on the West Coast with my husband and two teenage children. As a midwife I feel it is a privilege to work in partnership with women during their transition to motherhood. To balance work and family life I only take a small caseload of women each month. This allows me the time necessary to really get to know women and their whānau and provide individualised care. I provide full midwifery care during the antenatal period, labour and birth and then post-birth visits at your home for up to six weeks. I share information with women regarding all aspects of midwifery care including nutrition and exercise during pregnancy, antenatal screening, scans, optimal birthing positions to promote normal physiological birth, breast feeding vs formula feeding. I am available to see women in clinic rooms at Te Nikau hospital or the Harold house in Hokitika. My goal is to empower women to trust their bodies and achieve their best possible birthing experience.
