Nicky Snedden

I am an experienced midwife, based in Warkworth and have had the privilege of walking alongside women and their families full time since 2003, and part time since 1993. Consistently 50% of my births have been in the community at Warkworth Birth Centre, Wellsford Birthing Unit or at home. I am passionate about helping women to achieve natural, gentle birth in a low risk setting. However I am also passionate about providing continuity of care, so happily provide full care in the secondary setting of North Shore Hospital if required. If you are looking for a low intervention birth experience, recent research supports that the safest place to labour and give birth is in a low risk birthing centre. I give unhurried antenatal care in my clinic in Warkworth and postnatal home visits. I am very happily married to Colin and we have three sons, two of whom were born at home. I am actively involved in a local church and enjoy my large garden.
