About Me

I believe that birth is a normal everyday event (rather than a medical event). I am passionate about supporting physiological pregnancy, birth and the postpartum weeks and I prioritise looking after people who want to birth at home or at the nearby birthing unit. I have full working access to the Hutt hospital if we need to be there due to medical reasons. I feel strongly that even when complexities arise that much can be done to support normal physiology; I aim to work with each woman to co-create evidence-based individualised care. It is important to me to provide culturally sensitive care to a diverse client base; this includes ethnic minorities and the LGBTQA+ community. I worked as a naturopath and herbalist prior to training in midwifery; 2020 is my first year out in practice as a new graduate midwife. I am fortunate to have joined Mamaku Midwives; a diverse group of women with a wealth of health, midwifery and life experience between us
