Congratulations on your pregnancy, I'm a new graduate midwife working in the Nāti Pēpi team alongside my midwife partner Kaniwa Kupenga-Tamarama. Nāti Pēpi is a Kaupapa Māori māmā and pēpi service that provides wrap around care for whānau who want to indigenise their lives and learn traditional birthing and parenting practices so they will thrive. As Midwives we practise shared care, so you will meet either of us during your antenatal and postnatal visits, and for your labour and birth. As a mama of 11 and a midwife, I believe in the normal physiology of pregnancy but am also aware difficulties can arise. However, with an evidenced based approach towards care I endeavour to advocate and empower hapū māmā to birth safely in a manner that is best for them and their pēpi. I am passionate about providing holistic, individualised, continuity of care for wāhine hapū throughout their pregnancy.
