Since 1998 I have had the pleasure of caring for many hundreds of lovely families across the Tairawhiti region as they prepared, welcomed and cared for their new baby. They have shown me how unique each and every pregnancy, birth and baby is and helped shape the "gentle hands, strong expertise" midwifery care I provide today. Most of you can expect to have a normal pregnancy and birth. However you will need confidence to harness your inner strength and knowledge of ways to utilise outer support. Through respectful care, personal attention and plenty of information we will work towards a positive birth and parenting experience. Evidence based care will help you, and me, make the best decisions possible. The impact of a baby's start to life is now well acknowledged as having life long implications - I have an interest in neuroprotective developmental care which helps to protect your baby's rapidly developing brain, infant sleep and as a lactation consultant I can offer you specialised breastfeeding support.
