Kayla Hughes

Hello and congratulations on your pregnancy! My name is Kayla Hughes and I have had a passion for midwifery from an early age. I came to midwifery because I love working with women and families, I love physiological birth and being able to follow women in this amazing journey. I am a qualified pregnancy acupuncturist and offer this service free of charge to women in my care, if they choose. I believe in supporting and empowering women to have autonomy over their pregnancy and birth. I have a passion for physiological birth and home birth but feel comfortable in both a primary and hospital setting. I was born and raised in Hawke's Bay and love living in this beautiful city. In my free time, I enjoy reading books, walking my dog, Anakin, and watching documentaries.
