Congratulations, what an amazing journey you are beginning!
I became a midwife after having my own babies - they are teenagers now, while raising them I qualified and worked in hospitals, at primary units and in homes too - in pools and on dry land. I love providing woman centred care avoiding unnecessary interventions, feeding my passion for empowering you to have the best experience possible. I aim to create a partnership of trust, respect and openness, it is a joy watching you become parents to a new person. You are unique and I have seen the individual power and ability of women when birthing is in your control, which is why I am working with Rata Midwives and firmly believe in evidence based practice. We have small caseloads, offering culturally safe partnerships with women and whānau, providing continuity of care from conception to 6 weeks after your birth. One lovely family said You are amazing!!! you are warm, kind, respectful, professional, funny and energising...we will really miss you.
