Kia ora koutou katoa. I chose midwifery as I believe that becoming a parent is a powerful, life-changing experience. I find great joy and satisfaction in assisting whānau on the journey to welcome their new pēpi into the world. My midwifery kaupapa values education, discussion, kindness, partnership, respect and support for your choices with a strong focus on empowering women to birth in the way that is best for them. I take a small caseload so I have plenty of time to spend with wāhine and whānau. Many women will experience a straightforward & healthy hapūtanga, labour and birth needing only midwifery care. For some women, during pregnancy or for their labour and birth, input from our obstetric doctors is recommended. I happily refer to and work with our local maternity medical team when needed. My goal is always to ensure a holistically safe outcome for you, your whānau and pēpi.
How to Get Hold of Me
I specialise in supporting whanau to birth at home but will also take clients planning a hospital birth. I take a maximum of 2 first time families each month so I have plenty of time to provide the extra care needed when taking this journey for the first time. I especially enjoy working with whānau Māori so please get in touch if you would like a kaupapa Māori-friendly approach to your hapūtanga. I can be contacted by text, phone or email via this site.
