About Me
I provide maternity care based on what your needs are, giving guidance to help you make good choices for your whānau. I do pregnancy visits at my clinic in South Dunedin. This involves monitoring you and your baby's health (including arranging screening tests/scans/prescriptions); discussion of birth options; and preparation for having a new baby (including breastfeeding education). We do lots of talking - I listen to what you want, and aim to help to make this journey the best that it can be.
When you are in labour, we can use many techniques for support (including massage, positions, TENS, accupressure, water...). I love births at home, and also look after women/babies in the hospital. Once your baby is born, I will visit you most days in the first week, then weekly until six weeks.
I studied Biomedical Science (Human Reproduction) at the Otago Med School, following that up with a Bachelor of Midwifery - my job is my passion! I also love doing volunteer midwifery from time to time, in Vanuatu and PNG.
