Ashburton Birthcare Midwives
Congratulations on your pregnancy. I have worked as a Registered Midwife for over 20 years, the last 3 years being in Ashburton, and have recently completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Midwifery Practice.
I feel fortunate to have experience in all aspects of Midwifery having previously worked as both a Lactation Consultant and in Neonatal Special Care. I first qualified as a Registered Nurse, however, my passion is working with mothers and babies, and I feel privileged to join women and their partners during this very special time. I approach pregnancy and childbirth as a natural life event, supporting women to birth at home, at Ashburton Maternity and, if required, at Christchurch Women's Hospital. After delivery, I will see you at home for your postnatal care until your baby is 6 weeks old.
I work closely with five other midwives in the Ashburton area providing care 24hrs a day, 7 days a week. We cover all locations between the Rakaia and the Rangitata rivers.
