I am originally from Austria but did my training as a midwife in the UK where I met my husband and had my two daughters. I also worked there as a hospital based midwife for 6 years.
In 2002 our family moved to Hawke’s Bay for a lifestyle change and because I wanted to work within the NZ system of midwifery care. I have been working as an LMC for the last 17 years.
My aim is to make your pregnancy, labour and first few weeks after the birth as enriching and fulfilling as possible. I pride myself on providing individualised, friendly and informative care which is centred around you, your needs and expectations.
My philosophy is that pregnancy and birthing are normal life events and I feel particularly passionate about keeping births normal. I always try to keep interventions in labour and birth at a minimum, but I also appreciate that at times interventions are necessary and my first priority is the safety of you and your baby.
I provide hospital, home and waterbirths.
