Congratulations on your pregnancy. I value continuity of care and believe each woman's childbirth experience is different. My aim is to give you a positive birth experience trusting the process of normal birth, offering you quality care and education, in ways you feel valued and comfortable. Being a mother of two, I understand first-hand the importance of a holistic model of midwifery care, one that centres around you and the needs of your family, whānau and significant others. Our partnership will focus on mutual trust, education, information sharing and joint decision making, allowing you to make informed choices about your care. Outside of midwifery I like to keep fit, unwind in the kitchen, potter in my vegetable and flower garden, and spend time with my shared and blended Māori/Pacifica whānau and I believe this gives me a lived understanding of the many ways whānau form. I care for 3-5 women (rural and urban) each month, both returning and new clients.
How to Get Hold of Me
Please leave a message by text, phone or email during core business hours. I check my messages regularly, and will always respond to your enquiry promptly. I offer all women a meet and greet, an opportunity to ask questions about your expectations of a midwife and for me to share more about my practice philosophy, planning your care to meet the needs of you, your whānau, lifestyle, expectations and birth needs. This is particularly true for first time whānau requiring help navigating the process of finding the 'right midwife' for their pregnancy experience. Antenatal appointments at held at my clinic (Pirie St, Palmy) or by arrangement at the woman's home (Feilding). Post natal visits are always held in the woman's home. My practice partner Karen Knox and I offer to meet each other's women prior to their birth to support our commitment to continuity of care and your positive birth experience.
