About Me
I am 61 years old, married with 5 biological and 3 adopted children. I am blessed with twenty grandchildren who keep me busy at many occasions. Buller Birthing Practice is the only practice based in Westport and covers the remote rural Buller area from Karamea to Reefton to Punakaiki. It is my passion to provide care for women throughout pregnancy, childbirth and the early days at home with a new baby. I support birth at home, Kawatiri Maternity Unit and Grey Base Hospital. I believe that each woman should be empowered to make informed choices regarding her pregnancy, birth experience and early parenthood. It is an honour to work within the Buller Community and my aim is to provide a stable service and work in purposeful, ongoing relationships with women which enhances and protects the normal process of childbirth. Helen Turner is my practice partner and as a team we are committed to provide continuity of care and promote natural birth / water birth.
