Jo Ryde

Hello and congratulations on your pregnancy. My name is Jo Ryde and I have worked for the past 19 years as a midwife. I work with a lovely group of midwives, Rata Midwives. I enjoy working with women and their families at this special, important time in their lives. I view birth as a normal process and see my role as supporting women to listen to their bodies and develop trust in their ability to birth their babies. Over the past 19 years I have worked primarily with women choosing to birth at home and at Lincoln and St George's birthing units. I also have a lot of experience with waterbirths. I have three sons, Wiari, Taitoko, and Turiariki, two of whom were born at home. I look forward to hearing from you.
