Ylia Sawitzki

About Me

Hello, my name is Ylia and I came here from Germany 18 years ago after just finishing my midwifery training over there. What drew me - besides the beautiful environment and people's friendliness - was NZ's amazing maternity system. I love the continuity of care model which allows me to build a trusting and supportive relationship with the women I care for over the course of their pregnancy, birth and for the first 6 weeks of their new baby's life! It's my inspiration as a midwife to contribute to women having a positive pregnancy and birth experience - since this is what sets them, their babies, partners and families up for the very best start together! And while factors such as the kind of birth you have and the place of birth are important - ultimately it's the experience of feeling respected, inspired, deeply cherished and safe, which creates positive birth memories and empowers you as a new mum! I'd love to hear from you - especially if you're interested in ecstatic birthing :)

How to Get Hold of Me

Please call my mobile: 021-1467701. I take a small case load of 2-4 women per month and take every second weekend off.
