Anne O'Connor

I have worked as a community midwife for 20 plus years and still love it. I really enjoy the relationships we build with women and their families. I have worked at Christchurch Womens in the past and also done some midwifery tutoring when my children were younger. I have 2 daughters 17 and 20 years old. I work in a practice of 4 midwives and we work in pairs and have alternating weekends off. You get to meet the back up midwife at least 3 times which women really like and they feel comfortable knowing either Margie or I are available at all times. We provide care from early pregnancy through till 6 weeks after the birth. The care is focused around the woman, her family and their needs.
