About Me

Choosing a midwife is one of your first important pregnancy decisions. Finding someone to provide a good partnership with you and your whānau, supporting your choices, involving your birth partner and making you both feel at ease. I would like to introduce myself to help you decide if I am the right one for you! I love being a midwife, a career I chose in 1994 following the births of my 3 children, worked in England and Australia & now delighted to be in Nelson my new grandchild born in October - it’s great being a Nana! I’m very passionate about my work, confident in what I do, women centred, and will support births at home, Nelson Hospital or Motueka Birth Centre. I will discuss all options of care with you, and give you the support you need to make informed choices, and act as a strong advocate for you to achieve the birth outcomes you desire. I have a lively personality, which combined with a good sense of humour, will help you relax and make the very best of this most important stage in your life.

How to Get Hold of Me

My practice partner is the lovely Toni James. We work really well together, have a similar philosophy of care and (unfortunately for some!) the same sense of humour! If you are on my caseload, you will get to know her too as we support one another to not only ensure the best possible care for our clients but make sure we both get a well earned rest - this keeps us happy safe midwives! We run our clinics from a beautiful wholistic centre with acupuncturists, a chiropractor, a naturopath and a pregnancy massage therapist in Nile St West, Nelson, where we ensure you feel relaxed and at ease to enjoy your antenatal checkup. Please complete the form below or text 0273024800 and I will get back to you. It would really help if you could let me know your date of birth, the date you think your baby is due, (the first day of your last period if you are unsure and I will work it out), and let me know where you live and a little about yourself if that’s OK.Thank you so much. I look forward to meeting you.
