Sheryl Joy Christian

I am Sheryl Joy Christian and I live at the Gloriavale Christian Community with 580 members. Gloriavale is 75km inland from Greymouth at Lake Haupiri. I home birthed my 4 children and now have 14 grandchildren. I am a registered midwife and support women and their whānau in homebirth: water and land birth. My midwifery philosophy is that I believe birth is a wonderful part of life, with each woman’s experience being unique to her and her family. Birth is a normal life event and I will support your informed decisions around your care. I can provide referrals to other appropriate health professionals in regards to your midwifery health. In our midwifery partnership I will provide continuity of care bringing my midwifery skills and expertise. You also as a woman hold innate knowledge of your own body and your previous experiences of childbirth. I will acknowledge this and together with you meet your needs. My practice partner Harmony Helpful is my back up, along with LMCs from West Coast Midwives.
