PLEASE NOTE: I offer postnatal care only.
I began my midwifery experience at 23 years old in England in 1979. It was a Direct Entry course through Derby City Hospital for two years. After a few years working in England I moved to Toronto Canada. For the next 10 years I worked with the Midwives Collective of Toronto until we gained a legal Midwifery Profession. This was the first time and the first province to recognise our profession, in Ontario, Canada in1994. I stayed working in the community for almost 10 years more to provide sensitive and caring midwifery to women and their families. I helped on committees for the profession and was a preceptor to midwives who began their midwifery training with the newly set up degree programe and came to their practical training with us to the births we attended. I returned home to NZ at the end of 2001.
I began practicing as a core midwife at Tauranga in 2002. Since then I have continued with core midwifery in a secondary unit plus doing some LMC modules.
