Congratulations!! I completed my training here in Auckland Jan 2009. I spent 20 months in Brisbane at a tertiary hospital working with women with complex needs.
I returned to New Zealand to work as a core midwife at Waitakere Hospital (7 years) :) I now work at ADHB as a clinical charge midwife but look after a very small caseload per year and love it!!!!!!.
I have completed my postgraduate certificate in complex care and am now working towards my postgraduate diploma in midwifery.
My philosophy is that birth is a natural process and should be treated as such. Every woman is entitled to have the information, power and support to make choices around her pregnancy and birth that are completely right for her and her family. As a Midwife we need to listen, guide and support women to make these choices. I feel very blessed to be a part of this profession and all the joy and challenge it presents.
