Susan Laiseni
About me
Mālō e Lelei, my name is Susan, I was born and raised in Tonga, migrated to New Zealand in 2006. I speak fluently in Tongan and also in English. I previously worked in Middlemore hospital providing care for women in both low risks and complex care antenatal, labour & birth and postnatal in Botany/ Papakura birthing unit. Therefore, I am familiar with primary/secondary and tertiary settings. I will be providing care for women that are planning to give birth at Nga Hau or Middlemore hospital. My antenatal clinic will be held in Papatoetoe, days vary throughout the week.
I am passionate about building partnerships with women and their families. To advocate, empower and educate individual women to achieve safe and quality maternity care.
One thing that is very important to me as a wife, mother and a midwife is "Family". As a Tongan descent, I will always be guided by my four core values known as the faka'apa'apa (respect), loto to (humility), tauhi va (maintaining good relationships), mamahi'i me'a (passion).
Furthermore, I will be working alongside a group of Pasifika and Māori midwives also known as Niu Life Midwives. As a group we share the same visions and goals in providing the best maternity care for our Pasifika/ Māori hapū māmā within our communities.
If you believe I am the right midwife to walk this journey with you, feel free to fill out the enquiry form below with your name, number of pregnancies and estimated due date. I will respond as soon as I am available.
