About me
Nau mai, haere mai. Ngā mihi mo to haputanga! Ko toku ingoa Amy (Pronouns: they/them). I prioritise working with whānau who want to birth at home or with low intervention at the hospital.
I believe that birth is a normal everyday event; even when complexities arise there is much that can be done to support normal physiology. I aim to work with each client to co-create evidence-based individualised care. I have access to the Hutt hospital if we need to be there due to medical reasons.
I have a passion for providing culturally sensitive care to a diverse client base; this includes tāngata takatāpui (LGBTQA+), tāngata kanorau ā-roro (neurodivergence) and tāngata whaikaha (disability). I am also a trained naturopath and medical herbalist.
I work within an eclectic and incredible midwifery team known as Mamaku Midwives; our clinic is nestled into the native bush in Naenae, te Awakairangi.
