About me
Our practice supports whānau that live in the Horowhenua and are wanting to birth at home or the Horowhenua/Levin Maternity Unit (Kōhungahunga).
Please read my profile in full.
My philosophy is one centred around empowered birthing & ensuring that anyone I care for, or am involved in the care of, feels empowered & advocated for. I feel that everyone has their own individual childbirth journey from conception to birth & beyond and that I am there to support, educate, champion, assist, or maybe, just, to be present.
I feel eternally privileged to be welcomed into such a beautiful, private & memorable time in a whānau's life. I'm constantly in awe of the human body and the innate strength shown during the childbearing year.
It is an ongoing goal to achieve a sustainable work/life balance - I'm passionate about my job, love being a kaiwhakawhānau, but, also love being Māmā to our three gorgeous tamariki, one born in hospital, one at home & one at a birth centre.
In our midwifery practice we are primary birthing midwives and help you plan to birth at primary places such as home or the birthing centres (Levin or Te Papaioea). We do not plan births at hospital - this is a place for clinical issues and emergencies if needed.
