Hi there! My name is Kim and I am an experienced midwife, gaining my degree from AUT in 2004. Since then I have worked both as an LMC midwife, providing continuity of care, and as a hospital staff midwife. I have a wide range of experience, some of which was gained working in NWH Delivery Suite, where I had the opportunity to care for hundreds of women - both normal and highly complex pregnancies and births.

I have really enjoyed working with women of many different cultures and in particular have had a high number of Māori and Pacific Island women in my caseload.

I believe that every woman’s pregnancy experience is unique and my role is to help facilitate your journey throughout your pregnancy, birth and postnatal period. I am a straight-talker as I strongly feel all decisions are yours to make and therefore you need to know all the facts in order to make the best choices for you. I encourage partners/husbands to be involved as much as possible too.

Feeling that your midwife is someone you can approach about anything that is troubling you, being able to rely on her and having easy and open communication is essential to you feeling supported and in control throughout your pregnancy. I offer antenatal visits at our clinic at 20 Ramsay St in Frankton, Hamilton. All postnatal visits will be in your home or at a location of your choice. I do a lot of postnatal visits as this is often a very trying time for new mums. For non-urgent calls or texts, please get in touch within normal working hours. For urgent midwifery care, I can be contacted 24 hours a day. I don't take a large caseload, which allows me plenty of time to get to know you and be available to meet your individual needs.
