Hi! I’m Stephanie/Steph. So happy for you that something this wonderful is happening in your world! I completed my midwifery training in 2008, and prior was a registered nurse. I have worked as an LMC midwife for most of this time, and as a core midwife for 2.5 years. I have 4 adult children (2x pink; 2x blue), and have personally experienced overdue babies (all of them!), induction, vaginal breech births x2, and a home birth.

I am a firm believer that the birth process is a good one and leads to good outcomes when everything is normal. I will encourage you towards education/practices that will help optimise the ‘normal’ and minimise your need for medical intervention. However, if there is a need to intervene, I much prefer the ‘ambulance at the top of the cliff’ plan, and am big on informed consent. I work with Claire Casby, providing midwifery support and time off for each other. I will see you at my clinic antenatally at Carefirst Moturoa where I lease a room, and at home after you've had your baby.
