I am a mother to two wonderful sons and five beautiful grandchildren. I trained in South Africa, first as a nurse then as a midwife, moving to New Zealand in 1998. I have been a self-employed midwife working with the supportive, friendly group of midwives at Kate Sheppard Midwifery since 2000. Midwifery has been my passion since the first day I stepped into a Birthing suite and witnessed the wonder of childbirth. This love was cemented when I became pregnant with my own sons. Watching my grandchildren being born and growing into the amazing little people that they are and how important they are to their parents and all of the family highlights the importance of a safe birth for every baby and their mum.

It is a huge privilege and joy to walk the miraculous road of pregnancy, childbirth and early parenting in partnership with each woman and her family. I believe that each woman is unique with unique needs. I am committed to providing safe, holistic, friendly and professional midwifery care specific to you.
