Kia ora koutou e ngā whānau. I am an Ōtautahi based midwife working with Homebirth Midwives Christchurch. Originally from Melbourne, I have spent the last 16 years living and raising my tamariki here in Ōtautahi. I chose to become a midwife to support wāhine to feel strong, informed and in control of their choices in health. I love my job and especially the process of building a warm, caring and professional relationship. I am honoured to be walking alongside wāhine from the region as they welcome a new pēpi to their whānau. I provide care to whānau from early pregnancy through till 6 weeks after the birth. I am passionate about supporting wāhine to birth their pēpi at home or in a primary birth setting. I believe for wāhine to have positive birth outcomes they need to feel informed, safe and empowered and feel this occurs through information sharing and discussion. I believe in a holistic focus in order to support whānau through their unique childbirth experience.
