Kia Ora my name is Sammy and I am a LMC Māori midwife working in South Auckland. I come from Taupō and I have roots in the far north but South Auckland has been my home for many years. I look after women during their pregnancy, labour and birth and postnatally and I believe pregnancy and childbirth are normal life events. I encourage primary midwifery care for women wanting to birth at Middlemore Hospital. As a midwife I will endeavour to provide you with the best and safest care possible by building trusting relationships through partnership, ensuring you are fully informed about your care and offering platforms for informed consent and decision making. My backup midwife is Mela and we work in a practice with many supportive and experienced midwives.
