Congratulations! I’m Sarah Blackman, I originally trained & worked as a registered nurse before completing my midwifery training in 1993. I love being a midwife & feel very privileged to be part of such a special time in a woman's life. I believe that childbirth is a normal & natural event in life & appreciate that every woman is unique in their childbirth experience. I am committed to working in partnership with every woman/family I care for & safety of mother and baby are paramount. I listen, encourage, support & help to provide you with the information you need to make the right choices for you & your family. I endeavour to be a strong advocate for you & help you to feel empowered every step of the way. With over 29yrs experience as a midwife I am happy to provide care for all types of births, including women who have had previous c-sections or are planning an elective c-section this time. I look forward to meeting you & would love to look after you, baby & family as you begin this exciting journey.
