Susan Laiseni
About me
Malo e Lelei. I was born and raised in Tonga, and I migrated to NZ more than 15 years ago. I speak fluently in Tongan and also in English. I previously worked in Middlemore hospital providing care for women in both low risks and complex care antenatal, labour & birth and postnatal in Botany/ Papakura birthing unit. Therefore, I am familiar with Primary/Secondary and Tertiary settings and plan of care. I would like to provide care for women planning to give birth at Nga Hau or Middlemore hospital.
I am very family oriented, I am married with 4 children, we also have a 1 year old golden retriever. On my days off, as a family we enjoy a lot of outdoor activities and explore the beautiful scenery of NZ. As a midwife, I am passionate about educating women and families in the process in welcoming their new bundle of joy. Throughout my journey as a midwife I believe health is a balanced state of physical, mental, emotional and social wellbeing.
My goal is to advocate, empower and work in partnership with women and their families to facilitate the best childbirth experiences. I will be providing care for women in pregnancy, labour & birth in Primary or Secondary setting, followed by 5-6 weeks home visits.
Furthermore, I will be working alongside the lovely group of Niu Life Midwives which consists of Pasifika and Māori midwives. We share the same visions and goals in providing the best maternity care for our Pasifika/ Māori hapū māmā within our community.
If you believe I am the right midwife to walk this journey with you, feel free to fill the enquiry form below with your name, number of pregnancies and estimated due date. I will respond as soon as I am available.
