Congratulations on your pregnancy. My journey to becoming a midwife started in 1983 when I began my nursing training. Along the way I have developed a wealth of skills and knowledge in child and maternal health in my roles as a Plunket Nurse, Childbirth Educator, and as a parent to my own three, now adult, children, before finally realising my dream of becoming a midwife. I am passionate about providing holistic, women centred midwifery care, sharing midwifery knowledge to enable you to make informed decisions regarding your pregnancy, childbirth and parenting journey. Being able to provide you with continuity of care is important to me, and for that reason I book a small caseload that enables me to provide midwifery care whether you birth at home, Pukekohe primary birthing unit, or at Middlemore. I work with four other supportive midwives, enabling me to have regular time off call. I will ensure you meet my back up and our team throughout your pregnancy.
