About me
Congratulations on your pregnancy. I am a NZ-trained midwife, long-term Queenstown local and mother of one active teenager who was born in Queenstown. It has been my privilege to support women in Queenstown’s diverse community, having provided midwifery care to the women and their families from 30+ different countries. I am originally from Japan and spent some time in Brazil before moving to Queenstown, then married to my NZ-born husband. I respect each woman’s unique cultural background. If this would be your first pregnancy or you came from another country, you may be unfamiliar with NZ Maternity services. I am pleased to help answer any questions you may have. My aim is to help you enjoy, give you confidence and feel safe during your special journey. I look forward to supporting you and your family to achieve a positive birth experience. (Portuguese) Parabéns pela sua gravidez. Eu morei em Campinas, São Paulo por um ano. Adorei a experiência e a cultura. Entendo português e falo um pouco.(日本語) お気軽にお問合せ下さい

I work in a supportive team of four midwives with Keri Mapperson, Grace Penman and Nicci Fahey. Two of us are always on call, and remain in the region for birth and emergency. With each of us taking small caseloads, we ensure safe and thorough care to our women with 'continuity'. If any complication arises during your pregnancy or you have any pre-existing medical conditions, I refer you to the Obstetric team in Invercargill/Dunedin and work collaboratively with the Specialist team. I am fully supportive with any decisions you make around your childbearing journey. If you are planning to travel to Invercargill/Dunedin for labour & birth, I am happy to discuss options and help making an individualised plan for you.
