Congratulations on your pregnancy!

I am Leianne O'Brien, an experienced registered midwife within the Manaakitea Midwives Practice.

A team of 9 passionate midwives who believe that pregnancy and birth are an extraordinary normal part of a woman's life journey.

I have had the privilege of providing midwifery care to Canterbury families since 1996. Previously to becoming a midwife I was employed as a registered nurse for the CDHB and I have also worked in the community as a Plunket nurse.

I have a family of four beautiful children and two gorgeous mokopuna.

I offer Lead Maternity Care services supporting you and your family with your choices for childbirth. Antenatal appointments are held at Kurawaka Waipapa, City or Piki Te Ora Medical Centre, Linwood.

Experienced midwife Coral Moir and myself offer midwifery shared care postnatal visits in your home, supporting you in the early weeks of parenthood.
