Hi I'm Edith.Congratulations on your pregnancy! I'm a very optimistic, outgoing midwife who enjoys her job. I have over 10 years experience in the hospital and in the community. As your midwife I will keep you informed about your pregnancy and childbirth and help you make decisions. I will advocate for you in regard to the decisions you make. I will guide you in this process and ideally it means you have a more satisfying birth experience. I care for people from all cultures and backgrounds. If you are having a normal pregnancy you can choose to birth at one of the great primary birthing units in and around Christchurch, at home or at the hospital. My statistics show an excellent vaginal birth rate, well above the national average. I support women who are more complex or require repeat caesarean sections. If your pregnancy has complications, I will recommend referring you for tests and to consult specialist services and you may be need to birth at the hospital. I provide epidural cares when needed.

Antenatal appointments are held at our clinic in Linwood, all day Tuesday, and on Friday afternoons. In some circumstances, I visit at home in the antenatal period. After your baby is born we will visit you at your home for up to 5- 6 weeks.
