Hello and congratulations on your pregnancy. My name is Laura Southon and I am a registered midwife working in the Christchurch and Selwyn area. I would be honoured to work in partnership and walk alongside you and your family as you navigate this special time in your life.

I believe pregnancy and childbirth is a significant and normal life event. Every pregnancy and birth are different, and therefore I provide individualised care specific to your needs. I provide up to date information and support you to make informed decisions for yourself and your baby throughout this journey.

I provide continuity of care throughout your pregnancy, labour and birth and up to six weeks postnatally. I support all places of birth, this includes home birth, primary units and hospital births (Christchurch Women’s).

I work within a supportive practice called Nurture Midwifery and currently offer home visits for appointments.
