Hello and congratulations on your pregnancy - what an exciting journey you are on. I’m Mariko, a midwife based in Christchurch and mum of two school-age children.

I provide holistic, evidence-based care and see birth as a normal process, founded on good health and well-being.

I appreciate the diversity of women and their whānau and enjoy learning from different cultures and perspectives. I take a small caseload of ~3 births each month, this enables me to spend time getting to know each whānau and centring my care around their unique needs. Whānau describe me as caring, calm, knowledgeable and organised.

I work closely with a friendly team of midwives, we have a shared focus on supporting women who are planning a home birth or in a birthing unit. In situations where more complex care is required, I will always support you to birth at the hospital.

I offer a mix of home and clinic visits, my clinic is on Monday AM at Kurawaka: Waipapa (Antigua st) and Thurs AM on Manchester st
