I wholeheartedly believe that every journey to parenthood should be an empowering, transformative and nurturing time. I love my job, supporting people to trust their bodies. I'm passionate around involving loved ones in your care & providing culturally safe & inclusive care. I'm also fascinated by emerging evidence & research which continuously informs my midwifery practice. Because of this, my passion is physiological, undisturbed birth. I love & strongly support home & primary unit birth - as the evidence shows this is safe and empowering for well people, avoiding unnecessary interventions. I only support birth at Christchurch Women's when medically indicated. We at Rātā all share this same philosophy as we know this empowers birthers and supports healthy outcomes.
