Candice Kovacs-Milner

As a midwife & a māmā, I wholeheartedly believe that every journey to parenthood has the ability to be an empowering, transformative time. I love my job, supporting people to trust their bodies. I'm passionate around involving loved ones in your care & providing culturally safe & inclusive care. I'm also fascinated by emerging evidence & research which continuously informs my midwifery practice. Because of this, my passion is physiological, undisturbed birth. I love & strongly support home & primary unit birth - as the evidence shows this is safe for well people, avoiding unnecessary interventions. I only support birth at Christchurch Women's when medically indicated, however I'm also passionate about ensuring ALL people are encouraged to make fully informed decisions that feel right for them. We at Rātā all share this same philosophy. I work closely with my backup Kaz Kavanagh, using a shared care model. Get in touch if you'd like to hear more about how we work, to see if we are a good fit for your whānau.

~** RETURN CLIENTS - PLEASE CONTACT ME REGARDLESS OF AVAILABILITY **~ For any bookings please contact me (or Kaz) via email, during business hours. I have plenty of resources and information which I love to send out prior to deciding if we are a good fit. Our clinics are Monday mornings at Flow Therapeutics - 229 Fitzgerald Avenue. And Thursday mornings at Te Ara Sophia - 275 Fifield Terrace. Rātā is a brilliant team of like-minded midwives who share the same philosophy and passion as myself, providing care until 6 weeks postpartum. I work in a shared care model alongside the beautiful Kaz Kavanagh. Rainbow friendly. Our backups are the lovely Sheena & Kate who do clinics on a Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning.
