I’m Poppy, a midwife based in Ōtautahi/Christchurch. I provide midwifery care from early pregnancy, through labour and birth, and until your baby is six weeks old.

I am so excited to be able to support whānau through this precious kaupapa, and in doing so, ensuring that each experience on this journey is an empowering and affirming one. My midwifery practice is informed by current and emerging evidence and research. Because of this, my passion is physiological birth, and I follow the evidence that home and primary units are the safest place for well women/people to birth their pēpi, while also providing hospital care if medically indicated. However, I firmly believe that all whānau deserve to be informed and feel safe to make decisions that are right for them.

I work closely with the lovely Homebirth Midwives team who share this same philosophy.
